SKI THE ANDES

- Bariloche, Argentina - September 1-11, 2024 -

The backcountry skiing around Bariloche is European style hut-based ski touring with mostly couloir skiing and ski mountaineering objectives. We’ll be basing out of each hut for a day or two before moving along to new terrain, traversing from Cerro Catedral to Refugio Frey before continuing to Refugio Jakob and Laguna Negra.

Come experience skiing amongst the golden spires in this unique part of the Andes, plus the Argentine food, wine, and unique mountain culture over 10 days in September!

Details:

This trip is for the intermediate-advanced recreationalist capable of climbing 1000-1500m per day. We will be ski touring 6-8 hours per day or as long as your legs will go!

ITINERARY:

September 1-11

- Arrival day! Fly to Argentina. Connect through Buenos Aires and join us for dinner as a team in Bariloche

September 2

- Cerro Catedral Ski + Prep: Wake up in Bariloche and warm up the legs on Cerro Catedral before skiing back to town to dive into Argentinian culture and Bariloche night life.

September 3-7

- Frey-Jakob-Laguna Negra Traverse: Spend the next 5 days touring from Cerro Catedral to Refugio Frey to Refugio Jakob to Laguna Negra and skiing as many couloirs as possible along the way!

September 8

- Regroup in Bariloche: Wake up in Bariloche. Repack and head to Cerro Tronador. Drive towards Otto Meiling Hut.

September 9-10

- Two days skiing Cerro Tronador: Summit and ski Cerro Tronador!

September 11

- Departure day: Transfer from Bariloche back home!
