Summer Evening Crevasse Refresher!
Summer Evening Crevasse Refresher!
Zenith Mountain Guides is offering a free crevasse rescue practice event on June 27th!
Whether you’re heading down to ski Mt. Baker next weekend, prepping for some summer alpine adventures, or just keeping the rust off for next season, come join us for an evening of crevasse rescue refresher and practice. We’ll have several guides to facilitate and give pointers, and some prize giveaways from OnwardUp, Arc’teryx, and SkiUphill!
- How much? It’s not free but close - sign up with a $10 donation to Squamish SAR!
- Who can attend? Anyone! Any level of experience is welcome. We’ll have several stations going to help anyone from total beginner to an expert who wants the practice.
- When and Where? 6:30-9:30pm on June 27th, meeting in the lower Smoke Bluffs Parking Lot.
- What do I need? We’ll have practice ropes but if you want to use your special hyperstatic rope or RAD Line, you should bring that. Our full recommended crevasse rescue kit is here. We’ll have a few bits of practice equipment (Nanotractions, Tiblocs, etc…) but you’ll need your own harness at the very least. Reach out if you have gear questions!
